Organizing & Planning

My apologies for taking so long in between my very first blogs! My husband was using my computer during the day for work. It seemed weird that every evening when I asked him to bring my computer back inside the house, he talked around the subject and never brought it in. I finally REALLY wanted the laptop so I asked for his keys one night, go get it out of his truck, and low and behold that darn man let it slide around in his truck and it has a HUGE dent now!! My sweet precious MacBook Pro is dented. :-/

Needless to say, I was not a happy wife that night, but I love still him and the computer still works fine so no harm, no foul and I'm over it. So that's my excuse for the delay in getting my blogging life up and off to a great start!

Now for the good stuff....

Soo for those of you that know me, you know I have a love for organizing and planning things!!! My mom told me today she was going to clean and organize her closet. Is it sad that I wanted to fly home just to make a trip to the container store and rush home to help her!?!? Guilty pleasure I guess, but plans and organization seriously make my heart smile!!!

I thought I would share some of my home organization ideas with you just for the heck of it!

THIS is my MOST FAVORITE thing, My yearly Planner!! The past two years I have ordered through erincondren.com and they have surpassed my expectation in a planner (yes, I have high standards when it comes to my planners!!) This year, they let me design my own and I am SUPER excited about it.

This cute little gem I picked up at the dollar store and I keep all the little packets in it that usually just fall over in my spice cabinet.

We have small closets, however we do have three small closets!! (Look on the bright side right...!?) I am currently using one closet for shoes.....and shoes alone. I know, sad?? I love the way these hangers hold so many shoes though!!

My scarf solution ^^^^^^^^^^
Over the Door Hat/Coat rack :-)

I've always been a little nerdy about my shirts. They HAVE to be folded MY way and placed in my T-shirt drawer in this manner. Chance no longer folds my tshirts because of this {my ridiculousness}, which I am totally ok with!!

Hanging Clothes: COLOR coded, ALWAYS!! If I had a bigger closet they would be color coded and separated into shirts and tanks. Sadly, there isn't enough room, so a lot of the tanks are now folded and in drawers.

I can't WAIT to build my dream house and have a FABULOUS closet that is FILLED with organization and color codes, probably labels too!!!!!

Hope you enjoyed a few of my OCD tendencies! Share some of yours so I feel better about how absurd I can be!!

Have a fabulous week!!

Snowboarding~Sock Buns~Showers

Soo last weekend my wonderful mother made one of her trips to PA to see us (it seems like FOREVER since we have seen her, which was at Christmas). My brother's girlfriend's parents were also going to be in town, so we decided to finally venture up to the {small} mountains in PA to go skiing and snowboarding. We ALL had a few falls, but all in all it was a SUPER fun day. I want to start going more and get my own snowboard.

Mom made it through one run, then had to call it quits. It might take a lot for us to get her back out on the slopes again. She still had fun though!! I'm glad she got to come up, even if it was just for the weekend.

Onto the work week.....
I have been TRYING for about 6 months to accomplish the sock bun. However, all of my attempts have failed, significantly!! I don't know if it was sure luck or if I have finally acquired the skills (I mean, come on!! It's not rocket science) but I wore my first sock bun in public this week.

Needless to say, I was pretty darn proud!!! I just hope I can accomplish it again!!

There has been a lot going on lately, one thing I missed out on was one of my bests', Bridal Shower yesterday. Seems like she had a great time and I heard the cake turned out great!! Wish I could have been there, but I will see her in April for the Bachelorette Party and of course in May for the Wedding! :-)
To contribute to the shower I sent some crafts down for decoration and ordered the cake (ReD VelveT) in lieu of not being able to be there. From what I hear, the decor worked out great!! I'm waiting on some more pictures but for now, here's what I have.

 ^^Burlap Flowers I made^^

Kelly Green and White are the colors of the shower and wedding, so I used this mirror from Ikea and painted Chevron stripes, then added the "Y". Turned out super cute, if I do say so myself!!

**Please excuse my dirty counter, I just wanted to hang the sign to see how it looked**

The cake turned out great!! I stained and painted the cake stand and made the burlap flowers to go in the cake. LOVE how great everything went together!!!

I've been inspired after completing these decorations, because they weren't as hard as I was expecting and everything turned out better than I hoped for.

I plan on continuing my craftiness for more projects!!!

Hope you have a great week!!

Making BitterSweet Memories

Well after almost a year of trying to be convinced, I have succumbed to the blogging life...So here it goes...Hope you enjoy.

My name is Krystal Johnson (formerly Chadwell) and until recently I had never lived out of a 60 mile radius in North Central Texas. Two years ago I made the journey with my husband to Pittsburgh, PA and that is where my BitterSweet title comes from. I miss my family and friends in Texas like crazy, yet the life we have started and the friends and family we now have in PA make it the best of both worlds.

I got married 2 1/2 years ago to my wonderful and fabulous [goofy] husband and for now it's just the two of us and our sweet little four legged child, Sadie (who will be 10 years old this year)!!

I really have no specific intentions with this blog, but I hope it takes me farther than my expectations imagine.
