Snowboarding~Sock Buns~Showers

Soo last weekend my wonderful mother made one of her trips to PA to see us (it seems like FOREVER since we have seen her, which was at Christmas). My brother's girlfriend's parents were also going to be in town, so we decided to finally venture up to the {small} mountains in PA to go skiing and snowboarding. We ALL had a few falls, but all in all it was a SUPER fun day. I want to start going more and get my own snowboard.

Mom made it through one run, then had to call it quits. It might take a lot for us to get her back out on the slopes again. She still had fun though!! I'm glad she got to come up, even if it was just for the weekend.

Onto the work week.....
I have been TRYING for about 6 months to accomplish the sock bun. However, all of my attempts have failed, significantly!! I don't know if it was sure luck or if I have finally acquired the skills (I mean, come on!! It's not rocket science) but I wore my first sock bun in public this week.

Needless to say, I was pretty darn proud!!! I just hope I can accomplish it again!!

There has been a lot going on lately, one thing I missed out on was one of my bests', Bridal Shower yesterday. Seems like she had a great time and I heard the cake turned out great!! Wish I could have been there, but I will see her in April for the Bachelorette Party and of course in May for the Wedding! :-)
To contribute to the shower I sent some crafts down for decoration and ordered the cake (ReD VelveT) in lieu of not being able to be there. From what I hear, the decor worked out great!! I'm waiting on some more pictures but for now, here's what I have.

 ^^Burlap Flowers I made^^

Kelly Green and White are the colors of the shower and wedding, so I used this mirror from Ikea and painted Chevron stripes, then added the "Y". Turned out super cute, if I do say so myself!!

**Please excuse my dirty counter, I just wanted to hang the sign to see how it looked**

The cake turned out great!! I stained and painted the cake stand and made the burlap flowers to go in the cake. LOVE how great everything went together!!!

I've been inspired after completing these decorations, because they weren't as hard as I was expecting and everything turned out better than I hoped for.

I plan on continuing my craftiness for more projects!!!

Hope you have a great week!!
